Hand carved and painted mug featuring a painted bunting and sycamore leaves on a slightly speckled midfire stoneware clay, with a blue cornflower exterior glaze and a simple beechnut liner. This piece was double-bisqued to enable a more painterly effect in my underglaze painting, which I follow with an oxide inlay after the second firing to highlight the carved detail.
